Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking staff to manage surgical supplies inventory for the OR, PACU, and Day Surgery. You will monitor par levels, restock, assemble case carts, and ensure timely delivery for scheduled and emergent procedures.

Responsibilities include inspecting orders, maintaining organization, and acting as a liaison between SPD and the OR while following sterilization and tracking procedures with accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relatable experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Strong computer and problem solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible; able to adjust assignments as department needs change.
• Demonstrated basic record keeping and legible writing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the inventory of surgical supplies for OR, PACU, and Day Surgery; initiate reorders per par levels.
• Inspect, verify, and record incoming orders; address errors or delays with supervisors as needed.
• Distribute and restock inventory in storage areas and case carts; ensure proper organization and expiry adherence.
• Assemble and deliver surgical case carts based on surgeon preference sheets; ensure timely delivery for scheduled and emergent cases.
• Serve as liaison between SPD and OR; facilitate supply flow and urgent communication.
• Follow policies for transporting and restocking sterilized instrumentation; use electronic tracking and respond to inquiries.
