Qualifications

• One year of graduate education or 27 quarter hours in the related field.
• Experience operating equipment related to the specialization.
• Graduate education or an internship may count toward specialized experience when directly related to the work.

Responsibilities

• Experience as first and second scrub with suctioning, retractors, skin staples, and sutures.
• Maintenance of highly complex sterile surgical setups (microscopes, air-powered, fiber optic, laparoscopic equipment).
• Draping patients, turnover of the surgical suite, restocking supplies, and anticipating operative needs.
• Inspecting the integrity of instrumentation with the circulating nurse.
