Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure every instrument is cleaned, sterilized and ready for surgery. You will support safe, high-quality care by maintaining strict safety standards and organized workflows.

In this role, you will monitor cycles, prepare instrument trays, handle biohazardous materials, and collaborate with nurses and surgeons to staff daily procedures.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Previous experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.
