You will ensure instrument care, maintain documentation, and adapt to various procedures within the department. Candidates should have 2–4 years of sterile processing experience, high school diploma or GED, and a basic life support certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification of Sterile Processing Preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) prerequisite.
• 2-4 years of experience in the field or related area.
• Aware of sterilization standards and practices.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
• Strong written and verbal English communication for safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to staffing schedules and daily assignments.
• Demonstrates teamwork and assists with retrieval of instruments and equipment.
• Participates in orientation and competency programs; supports facility mission and values.
• Solves problems timely with follow-through to achieve results.
• Participates in competency programs and healthstreams annually.
• Communicates changes to preference cards and case schedules.
• Maintains proper decontamination, cleaning, wrapping, and sterilization of instruments.
• Maintains inventory of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Contributes to quality improvement and cost containment initiatives.
