Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking an RN I for the Surgical ICU. The unit provides 12-bed adult care for complex surgical patients and serves as an alternate unit for trauma and neurosurgery, with close collaboration among intensivists and multidisciplinary teams.

The RN delivers individualized patient care, conducts assessments, and participates in performance improvement. Strong EMR skills and VA licensure are required; BLS is mandatory with ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed.

Qualifications

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Responsibilities

Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
