Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assistant for St Josephs South in Riverview, FL. The role supports the surgeon during operations, helps position and prepare patients, and ensures optimal visualization of the surgical site.

The candidate will have at least 3 years as a Surgical Tech and 1 year as a Surgical First Assistant, with a High School diploma and a First Assist certificate. BLS/CSFA certifications are required and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech and 1-year Surgical First Assistant experience.
• High School or equivalent and First Assist certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon during procedures and communicates preferences to the team.
• Positioning, prepping and draping patients; tissue retraction and visualization for the site.
• Assists with equipment selection, incisions, hemostasis, closure and other technical duties.
