Job summary

Community Health Systems' Oro Valley Hospital is seeking a Full-time RNFA (RN First Assist) for a day shift with on-call obligations. The Surgical First Assistant will provide scrub and circulating support, preparing rooms and assisting the surgeon during procedures.

Education requires an Accredited Surgical First Assistant program; two years OR experience as a Surgical Tech or RN; one year First Assistant preferred, with BLS/ACLS and CRNFA within 9 months.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Accredited Surgical First Assistant program.
• Two years OR experience as Surgical Tech or RN required.
• One year First Assistant experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS; CRNFA to be completed within 9 months of employment.
• Documentation of 100 cases as First Assistant in past 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.
• Assists with opening of sterile supplies and draping of patients.
• Supports surgeon during operative procedures and maintains homeostasis.
