Job summary

Total Medical Surgical Assists is seeking a full-time Licensed Surgical Assistant to join our surgical team. The LSA will support surgeons through first-assist duties during operations, assist with positioning, exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure within the authorized scope of practice.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, preparing cases, communicating with OR staff, and completing required documentation.

Qualifications

• Licensed Surgical Assistant required or equivalent licensure.
• Experience in first-assist duties during operative procedures preferred.
• Ability to maintain sterile field and assist with hemostasis and suturing.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical first-assisting duties under surgeon direction.
• Prepares cases by confirming surgeon preferences and equipment needs.
• Assists with patient positioning, draping, and exposure during procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and proper handling of instruments and specimens.
• Completes required documentation and timekeeping accurately.
• Maintains licensure, credentials, and health requirements.
