Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical First Assistant from an accredited certifying agency.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and/or School of Surgical Technology; current RN licensure in LA if RN background.
• BLS certification through ILCOR-recognized courses.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operative procedures providing exposure, hemostasis and tissue handling.
• Position patient, prep skin, visualize operative site and assist with wound closures as needed.
• Collaborate with surgical team and operate under direction of the surgeon during intraoperative phase.
