Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current basic life support certification.
• Current certification as a surgical technologist.
• Where applicable, registration with State Regulatory Agency.

Responsibilities

• Provides surgical assistance to surgeon for perioperative patient cases and prepares for procedures.
• Anticipates surgeon needs, maintains hemostasis, passes instruments, retracts tissue.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions; disposes of sharps and trash; assists with counting and cleaning.
• Assists with plan of care under physician direction; adheres to policies and regulatory requirements.
• Performs functions per policies and standards; delivers excellent service to customers.
