Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Certified First Assist for Summit Surgery Center in Hermitage, TN. You will work under the operating surgeon as the first/second assistant, providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical tasks to ensure safe outcomes and efficient case flow.

You will help with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and room turnover, while coordinating with anesthesia and surgical staff to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical assisting program.
• CSFA credential required.
• BLS certification required.
• One year OR experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon as first/second assistant during operative procedures.
• Assist with exposure, hemostasis, and surgical exposure.
• Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping according to protocol.
• Restock and change over rooms between cases.
• Support room turnover and readiness between procedures.
