Job summary

Rivhs is seeking a Surgical Assistant to work under the supervision of the surgeon and nurse manager. You will serve as the first or second assistant on procedures, preparing the patient and assisting with equipment and room turnover.

Requires completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant Program with related certifications. The role emphasizes infection control, collaboration with physicians, and readiness to support various surgical specialties while ensuring patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Two years of OR experience preferred.
• Prior experience as surgical tech or surgical nurse highly desired.
• CSFA certification preferred.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon as first or second assistant during operative procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.
• Prepare the operating room, set up instruments, and manage supplies and room turnover.
• Maintain infection control and adherence to safety standards.
• Support the perioperative team and communicate effectively with nurses and physicians.
