Job summary

Health First is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to support operative procedures under surgeon direction. The role involves exposure, hemostasis, closure and intraoperative tasks, plus preop/postop duties to optimize safety and patient experience.

Ideal candidates are graduates of a Surgical Assisting Program with BLS certification and CST/CSFA credentials; on-call responsiveness and strong English skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Assisting Program.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card required prior to start.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or CSFA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, closure and intraoperative tasks.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and equipment for procedures.
• Position patient and ensure safety and comfort per surgeon directions.
• Support in preop and postop duties to enhance safety and experience.
• Respond promptly to on-call needs within 30 minutes if applicable.
