Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Surgical Equipment Assistant for the Royal Oak Hospital OR to support daily equipment management and surgical readiness.

You will set up and verify patient equipment, assist with transfers under the surgeon's guidance, and scrub in for camera and retractor duties. Training in DaVinci robotic systems and O-Arm equipment is required, with BLS certification on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Stealth Navigation Training, Davinci Robotic training, PeopleSoft training, O-Arm training, Sterile Technique training with OR educator required.
• Experience in the OR preferred.
• AHA or ARC BLS upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional staff with daily equipment handling in the OR environment.
• Coordinates PMIs and repairs with appropriate disciplines.
• Sets up and checks patient equipment prior to case starts.
• Transfers and positions the patient under the direction of the surgeon.
• Scrubs in to hold cameras, limbs, and retractors under the surgeon's direction.
• Assists the surgical team in room turnover.
