Job summary

Corewell Health's Royal Oak Hospital seeks a Certified Surgical Assistant to support surgeons during a range of procedures in a high-volume OR. This full-time role requires completion of a surgical assistant program and appropriate certifications, with on-site responsibilities at Royal Oak and an emphasis on patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred; years of relevant experience may be considered
• Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program required
• Must receive CSA or CSFA certification upon hire
• 2 years of relevant experience; surgical assisting preferred
• CSA/CSFA or NBSTSA certifications preferred
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required
• AHA ACLS upon hire preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in approved surgical procedures under direct supervision
• Maintain instrument readiness and patient safety before, during, and after procedures
