Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Surgical Equipment & Materials Specialist in Baltimore to oversee evaluation, selection, purchasing, delivery, and inventory of surgical gear and instruments. You will partner with nursing leadership, Materials Management, Facilities, and vendors to resolve equipment concerns and support facility renovations and upgrades.

The role requires knowledge of inventory-control activities and data analysis; strong computer proficiency; ability to develop reports;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials management, equipment management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two to three years of experience in materials management or equipment services.

Responsibilities

• Manage evaluation, selection, purchasing, delivery, distribution, and inventory of equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments.
• Coordinate with nursing leadership, Materials Management, Facilities, Clinical Engineering, vendors, and other departments to resolve equipment and supply concerns.
• Develop reports and analyze data related to inventory levels, costs, and usage.
• Support facility renovations, equipment upgrades, project and maintenance orders, and other operational requests.
