Job summary

Surgical Dermatology Group in Madison, AL is seeking a dynamic full-time Medical Assistant to join our growing practice and help deliver exceptional patient care.

As a Medical Assistant you will prepare examination rooms, focus on the patient experience, gather patient information and consent, assist with procedures, manage charting and scheduling, and travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• GED/HS diploma required.
• Previous hands-on medical experience preferred.
• Ability to engage with patients in high-level interactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean before each appointment and stocked with necessary equipment.
• Focus on the patient experience.
• Gather patient information, informed consent, and payment information.
• Assist the physician with minor procedures, patient charting, uploading imaging, and patient follow-up appointment scheduling.
• Provide detailed post-care instructions to the patient and/or family members.
• Complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required.
• Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory.
• May travel to other locations throughout the week.
• Perform other tasks and duties as directed.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• Monday‑Thursday 7 am- 5 pm
