Job summary

Sunrise Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant in Mobile to support providers during patient visits and surgical procedures. You will assist with exams, instrument handling, and EMR documentation, ensuring accurate records and patient comfort.

Ideal candidates will have MA certification (or CST/LPN) and hands-on clinical experience; dermatology or surgical exposure is a plus, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits after hire.

Qualifications

• Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, CST License, or LPN.
• Hands-on clinical experience required; training provided for right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in delivering quality patient care.
• Greet and prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Provide side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.
• Assist with instrument sterilization and keep exam rooms clean.
• Review medical history and maintain patient records in the EMR system.
• Obtain appropriate consents when necessary.

Sunrise Dermatology, a part of the AQUA Dermatology portfolio, has remained dedicated to providing the highest level of comprehensive, personalized dermatologic care for patients of all ages in South Alabama and along the Gulf Coast since 2011. We are a full-service dermatology practice specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. With two fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons on staff, we offer on-site diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers at our Skin Cancer Surgery Center.

The ideal SurgicalMedical Assistantcandidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multitask. The MA assists the Provider with patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures.

Medical AssistantPrimary Duties:

• Assisting providers in delivering quality patient care.
• Greeting and preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
• Providing side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.
• Assisting with instrument sterilization and keeping exam rooms clean and organized.
• Reviewing medical history, accurately and confidentially maintaining patient records and documentation, and maintaining notes in the EMR system.
• Obtaining appropriate consents when necessary.
• Call in prescriptions, return patient calls, and handle administrative duties as needed.

Medical Assistant Skills and Qualities:

• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers
• Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice
• Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)
• Able to travel between locations

Experience and Education:

• Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN
• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting. We will train the right candidate
• Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, not required
