Job summary

Periodontal Associates of Memphis is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant to support hands-on patient care in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. You will prepare operatories, assist during procedures, and ensure patient comfort while following strict safety protocols.

The role requires two years of surgical assisting experience and prosthodontics exposure (bone grafts & implants), with proficiency in sterilization and lab coordination.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Dental Assisting program.
• Two years of Surgical Assisting experience required.
• Prosthodontics experience including bone grafting and implants.
• Proficient with common surgical office equipment (autoclave, statim, panoramic imaging, oxygen, laser, intraoral camera).

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatories for set-up, decontamination, sterilization and restocking.
• Escort patients, review treatment plans, and prep for care by the doctor.
• Monitor oxygen and IV sedation as needed and take vital signs.
• Take X-rays, impressions, pours, and prepare study models; coordinate lab cases.
• Record treatment data, schedule follow ups, and provide post-op directions.
