Job summary

Periodontal Associates of Memphis is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant to support hands-on patient care, operatory setup, decontamination, sterilization, and coordination of lab cases under the dentist’s direction. You will escort and prepare patients, review treatment plans, monitor oxygen and vital signs, and assist with X-Rays, impressions and study models.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited dental assisting program, at least two years of surgical experience, prosthodontics

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited dental assisting program.
• Two years of surgical assisting experience required.
• Prosthodontics experience including bone grafting and implants.
• Skilled in standard surgical office equipment: Autoclave, Statim, model trimmer, Panoramic/CBCT, oxygen, laser, intraoral camera, hand pieces.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatories for set-up, decontamination, sterilization, cleaning, restocking.
• Provide positive customer service by escorting and prepping patients.
• Review history and progress of treatment plans with patients.
• Monitor oxygen and IV sedation as needed; take blood pressure.
• Takes X-Rays, impressions, pours and prepares study models; coordinate lab cases.
• Record treatment information, schedule follow-ups and give post-op instructions.
