Job summary

Palmetto Center for Dental Specialties in Hialeah, FL, seeks a dedicated Dental Assistant to support the clinical team. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize tools, take X-rays and assist dentists during procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include patient education, charting, radiography, and maintaining infection control and confidentiality. A one-year accredited program or six months' experience is required, with certifications up to date.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months on-the-job experience with documentation.
• X-ray certification and Nitrous Oxide certification are highly valued.
• CPR, OSHA and HIPAA training required or to be maintained annually.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions and study models.
• Maintain infection control, patient confidentiality and workplace safety procedures.
• Keep accurate patient records, scheduling and intake as needed.
• Assist in dental/medical emergencies with CPR-ready protocols.
