Job summary

Dental Associates of Kendall in Miami, FL is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and provide high-quality patient care in a team-based environment. The role requires prior dental assisting experience and involves room preparation, sterilization, X-ray imaging, patient education, and adherence to safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has a one-year dental assistant program completion, X-ray certification, and CPR/OSHA/HIPAA training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
• Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
• X-Ray certification
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assists dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
