Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Hourly wage for a Surgical Assistant ranges from $20-25/hour depending on education, experience, responsibilities, and performance. The effective wage range (including PTO, paid holidays, bonuses, benefits, and more) extends up to $38/hour!

About Us

AZPerio is looking for a qualified Surgical Assistant in the Valley to join our growing practice. The Surgical Assistant plays a vital role on the team, assisting with checkups and surgical procedures related to gums, tissue, and bone, as well as operating necessary equipment. The Surgical Assistant works under the supervision of the managing doctor at our locations in Ahwatukee and Gilbert.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Graduate
• CPR, X-ray, and OSHA certifications (can be obtained after employment)
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and emergency procedures
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures and provide technical support
• Analyze and recommend improvements to internal processes
• Ensure clinical staff responsibilities are met
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Support company policies, standards, and confidentiality

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of dental surgery procedures and terminology
• Understanding of patient screening and documentation
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency response
• Proficiency with office and imaging software
• Strong communication, active listening, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Work in a well-lit, clean clinical environment
• Moderate physical activity; ability to handle objects up to 25 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
