Job summary

NÜVA Smile in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Oral Surgeon Dental Assistant to support a busy family practice and provide oral surgery assistance. The role involves patient assessment, treatment planning, instrument preparation, sterilization, radiographs, documentation, and patient education.

Saturdays only at locations in Haledon and Ridgefield Park; salary up to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with dental assistant training.
• X-ray license required.
• Experience with oral surgery procedures preferred.
• Licensed dental assistant or relevant clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Oral Surgeon in patient assessment and treatment planning.
• Prepare and sterilize oral surgery equipment and instruments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Maintain medical records and documentation; create patient file entries.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Provide patient instruction and education on oral hygiene and care.
• Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of the Oral Surgeon.
• Take diagnostic records and document cases.

Come join one of the "Top 10 Emerging Groups to Watch", as voted by Group Dentistry Now! We are a busy family practice performing all phases of general dentistry as well as Oral Surgery, and we are looking for a PT Oral Surgeon Dental Assistant to join our team. X-Ray License Required.

Location: Haledon and Ridgefield Park, NJ (Saturdays only)

Responsibilities:

• Assist Oral Surgeon in patient assessment and treatment planning
• Assist and prepare Oral Surgery procedures
• Sterilize, set up and prepare oral surgery equipment and instrumentation
• Preparation and maintenance of medical records and documentation
• Create patient file entries
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Provide patient instruction and education on oral hygiene and care
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Perform basic laboratory duties
• Schedule patient appointments
• Manage patient flow
• Under the supervision of the Oral Surgeon, deliver and assist with direct patient care
• Take diagnostic records
• Document and prepare cases
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma required; either a diploma from accredited orthodontic assistant program or relevant clinical experience. Dental assistant license or relevant clinical experience. X-ray license required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with oral surgery procedures, terminology and techniques. Salary commensurate with experience,up to $28 / hr
