Job summary

MAX Surgical Specialty Management seeks an enthusiastic Surgical Dental Assistant to join its growing Northeast network. The role supports Oral Surgeons in a fast-paced clinical setting, preparing rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during surgical procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a valid X-ray license, and prior dental assistant experience, preferably in Oral Surgery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid X-ray license is required.
• Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in Oral Surgery, is highly desirable.
• Discharge experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials.
• Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care and support our Oral Surgeons during various surgical procedures.
• Prepare treatment room, sterilize instruments and maintain infection control guidelines.
• Set up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X-ray machines and surgical lights.
• Prepare patients for oral surgery and address concerns.
• Assist during surgical procedures and maintain a sterile environment.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort levels during surgery.
• Handle and dispose of surgical waste in compliance with safety regulations.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient records to ensure smooth flow.

As an Surgical Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our Oral Surgeons with various surgical procedures. What You’ll Do:

The Surgical Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our Oral Surgeons throughout various surgical procedures.

Preparing the Treatment Room:

• Ensure the treatment room is clean, organized, and equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments according to infection control guidelines
• Set up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X-ray machines, and surgical lights

Assisting with Oral Surgery Procedures:

• Prepare patients for Oral Surgery, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns they may have
• Assist Oral Surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing the necessary
• instruments and materials
• Maintain a sterile environment during surgery, following strict infection control protocols
• Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort level during surgery, ensuring their well-being at all times
• Handle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations

Patient Support and Education:

• Provide post-operative care instructions to patients, including oral hygiene practices, medication administration, and dietary restrictions
• Answer patients' questions and concerns, offering reassurance and empathy throughout their treatment

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatment plans, procedures, and progress

Administrative Duties:

• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with other dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow
• Manage patient records, update medical histories, and handle billing and insurance documentation
• Assist with inventory management, ordering dental supplies, and maintaining equipment
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid X-ray license is required
• Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in Oral Surgery, is highly desirable
• Discharge experience is highly preferred
• Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials
• Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach

• Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy
