Job summary

Columbus Ophthalology Associates in Columbus, OH is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to manage pre- and post-operative communication and ensure accurate financial and scheduling processes for surgical patients.

You will coordinate surgery scheduling, pre-op education, insurance benefits checks, cost summaries, and patient counseling on finances, and you will follow up on payments while supporting multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience in financial counseling is preferred.
• Experience working with insurance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery, perform pre-surgery patient education regarding preparation for surgery and communicate with all associated facilities.
• Schedule and coordinate pre-op appointments with the patient and/or the patient’s care giver.

Hours:

• Full Time
• Our offices are open Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm.
  • Your shift will fall within those hours.
  • You may need to work earlier or later as needed.

Requirements:

SUMMARY

Deliver excellent patient-centered care by ensuring the financial and surgical communication process is complete for patients having surgical procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will require flexibility and a broad knowledge base, with ability to perform any of the below tasks.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• This role requires a variety ofphysicalactivities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus is required100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
