UCHealth is seeking a part-time Surgery Scheduling Coordinator at the MCR Pre Admit department in Loveland, CO. The role schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointments, coordinates with physicians and staff, and communicates pre-procedure instructions to patients and families. Qualifications

  • BLS through AHA/Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card due before start date; valid through 60 days after hire.
  • Minimum experience: none required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
  • Coordinates with physicians and healthcare team to ensure facility, surgeon, staff and equipment availability.
  • Communicates pre-procedure instructions and confirms appointments with patients/families.
  • Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Location: UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies, US:CO: Loveland

Department: MCR Pre Admit

Work Schedule: Part Time, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
  • Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
  • Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
  • Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Licensure/Certification: Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
  • Minimum Experience: None required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
