Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a part‑time role (24 hours per week) in the surgery setting. Under supervision of a physician or nurse, the CMA provides direct patient care, performs routine lab tasks, and assists with clerical duties in the ambulatory environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of CMA experience in a physician office, BLS/CPR certification, and the ability to type and communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency and clear communication required.
• Typing ability for charting and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Record patient information and vital signs accurately.
• Administer injections and collect specimens as directed.
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic lab procedures.
• Maintain infection control standards and clean procedures areas.
• Document activities timely and accurately in the EHR.
