Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for primary care in Illinois. This full-time role starts around 8am and ends around 6:30pm, with no weekend shifts.

You will perform multi-skilled clinical and administrative tasks under physician or RN/LPN supervision, including injections, lab testing, EKGs, and patient preparation. Emphasis on patient care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program
• American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Completion of phlebotomy class or equivalent experience. Basic computer knowledge. Ability to type proficiently and accurately. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• New graduates/hires must obtain certification/registration within 1 year from hire date. CMA/AMT/NCMA/NHA/NRCMA acceptance or RN/LPN in lieu of CMA.
• Preferred: Associates degree in Medical Assisting
• Second language proficiency a plus
