Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Pediatric Outpatient unit in a full-time daytime role. The CMA works under a physician and/or licensed nurse supervision to provide direct and indirect patient care, and may assist with clerical tasks to support ambulatory care.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant Certification, and CPR – Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a healthcare provider, assists with patient treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies; reorders, stocks, cleans, and troubleshoots; maintains examination area.
• May perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, billing, and patient registration.
