Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA, is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator 2 – Surgery to join the team. This full‑time role runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, focusing on patient education, study procedures, and regulatory compliance within surgical clinical trials.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN or ADN, with at least three years of nursing experience and two years in clinical research, plus CRC/CRN certification after two years.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN; if RN has an ADN, plan to complete BSN within 24 months.
• Three years nursing experience, with at least two years in clinical research.
• CRC or CRN certification after two years in clinical research; BLS; VA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education and medical information to study patients to ensure understanding of proper medication dosage, administration, and disease treatment.
• Delineates and defines the physiological status of the patient; assesses educational, psychological, and spiritual needs.
• Administers investigational medications and performs patient assessments during clinic visits for side effects; notifies investigator.
• Performs nursing duties as assigned and relevant to credentials and study needs.
• Ensures protocol elements and study requirements are met; mitigates potential protocol non-compliance.
• Ensures subject safety, documentation and reporting; escalates when needed and minimizes risks.
• Oversees investigational products development and applies GCP and non-GCP study activities; documents data per ALCOA-C.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
