Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Manchester, NH is seeking an intermittent Surgical Services Registered Nurse to support a variety of specialty clinics including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Vascular, Podiatry, and Wound Care.

As part of the Surgical Services Clinic, the RN will coordinate care across the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases, provide patient education, and collaborate with surgeons, PAs, and other healthcare professionals to deliver veteran-centered

Qualifications

• English Language Proficiency
• Graduate of an approved nursing school with licensure
• ACEN or CCNE accreditation for the program
• State license - current, full, active and unrestricted
• GNT exception allows temporary appointment while pursuing licensure
• Grandfathering provision for current VA employees in 0610 series

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and care coordination for Surgical Services patients
• Coordinate preoperative testing, imaging, pathology, and clearances
• Educate patients and caregivers on procedures, recovery, and self-management
• Develop individualized plans of care based on assessments and veteran goals
• Assist in procedures and support perioperative and postoperative care
• Support quality improvement and policy development
