Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Outpatient Surgery Specialty Clinic within the Nursing - Ambulatory Care Service at VA White River Junction, VT.

This full-time role emphasizes leadership, coordination of care, and clinical excellence in a busy outpatient setting. Candidates must hold an active RN license in the United States, possess an accredited nursing degree, and be eligible for EDRP.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care
• Graduate nursing degree from an accredited program with licensure eligibility
• Foreign nursing education may require degree equivalency validation
• State license must be current, full, active, and unrestricted
• GNT option allows 120-day temporary appointment while pursuing licensure

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care across the continuum and educate patients and families
• Lead and participate in policy/procedure development and evaluation
• Collaborate with providers and nursing teams to deliver outpatient care
• Triage patients, answer calls, and document in the EMR
• Work 8-hour shifts Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays
• Follow clinic protocols and support procedures across surgical clinics
