Job summary

The Surgical Clinic Registered Nurse position at the Manchester VA location is an intermittent role with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per month. The RN provides veteran-centered care across multiple surgical specialties and collaborates with surgeons, PAs, and other professionals to coordinate care.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, patient education, pre/post-operative coordination, and ongoing participation in quality improvement while maintaining standards of practice and VA

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in any US state or territory with full, unrestricted licensure.
• Education from ACEN/CCNE-accredited programs is acceptable for federal employment.
• Experience in surgical services or ambulatory care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Veteran-centered nursing care in Surgical Services clinics.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, PAs, APRNs and other clinicians across the continuum.
• Assist providers during procedures and care for Veterans in surgical specialty services.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain competency and cross-train to support multiple Surgical Services clinics.
