Job summary

Chickasaw Nation Department of Health in Ada, OK is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to clean the surgical environment and assist with patient transfers as needed. You will support perioperative teams, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold safety standards in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and complying with HIPAA and facility policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Summary

Provides comprehensive cleaning in the surgical environment. Performs a variety of cleaning tasks, transferring patients fromoperatingroom table to stretcher, and transporting of patients to and from thesurgerycenter.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via stretcher, patient bed, and or wheelchair to and from areas of CNDH
• Operating Room: Replaces sharps containers as needed, empties trash/biohazard bucket/linen,cleansand disinfects all horizontalsurfacesperstandards after each surgical procedure, including the surgical table,OR lights,all steel tables/mayo stands/ring stands, anesthesia machine, boom and all equipment on the boom, step stools, rolling chairs, counters, trash cans, floor,etc. and replaces linen/trash/biohazard containers and dresses the surgical table with clean linen
• Assistsoperating room staff with transferring patients from the surgical table to the OR stretcher or patient bed
• Assistsoperating room staff with positioning patients on an as needed basis
• Ensures DS/IP procedures have the assigned hospital bed outside the OR suite at time to be transferred at completion of procedure
• Ensures IP procedure beds are clean and tidy before the patient is put back on the bed after the procedure
• Day Surgery/Recovery Room:Assists PACU nurses with getting ice chips/water for patients as needed,assistspatients to and from restroom,assistspatients with dressing upon discharge as needed,cleansand disinfects PACU bays/OR gurneys/wheelchairsaccording to above standards after each patient use and keepstrashemptyand linen hampers as needed, followed by replacing the liners
• Transportspatients via wheelchair to private vehicleupon discharge
• Assists PACU nurse with transporting patients via patient bed to acute care/OB/ICU upon discharge
• Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
• Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
• Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
• Maintains and promotes professionalism
• Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
