Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Care Unit. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide care to patients with various conditions and acuity levels, including complex GI surgeries and postoperative care.

The role involves night shifts with a 6:45 pm to 7:15 am schedule and night/weekend differentials. You will use the nursing process, manage patient care, and coordinate plans across the care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1 year of applicable nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (AMA/Red Cross) certification.
• Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Performs patient care tasks in accordance with care plans.
• Delegates patient care tasks to appropriate team members.
• Supervises other patient care staff on the unit.
• Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients.
• Consults with other health care professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adheres to policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
