Job summary

Northwestern Medicine currently seeks a Part Time Care Tech for the Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (2A) in Winfield, IL. The role supports RN staff with basic patient care, vital signs, ADLs, and charting for adult patients with complex surgical needs. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent and a CNA/CMA/EMT credential or nursing student status with clinical experience.

Typical shifts are 6am-6:30pm with rotating weekends. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/ CMA / EMT or nursing student with one semester completed preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and documenting intake/output.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly and supports unit operations during busy periods.
