Full Time Surgical Care Assistant II

Summary:

  • Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Supports the operation of the nursing unit, maintains a sterile field, assists with surgical procedures, and provides excellent customer service to patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides age-appropriate care, supports patient safety, maintains confidentiality, and advocates for patients.
  • Performs scrubbing duties, assists with positioning and skin preps, transports specimens, supports anesthesia staff, and ensures infection control practices.
  • Assists in room setup, equipment handling, patient positioning, and surgical preparation.
  • Participates in quality improvement, communicates effectively with team members, and maintains a safe environment.

Credentials:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
