Join us as a Surgical Attendant at Duke University Hospital within the Duke University Health System.

About the Role: Perform technical, environmental, and patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following hospital policies and within the legal scope of practice for unlicensed caregivers.

Responsibilities:

1. Verify patient location and identification.
2. Assist with patient transport and respond to patient needs promptly.
3. Assist in the orientation of new staff and provide emergency assistance as directed.
4. Transport specimens and equipment safely.
5. Prepare units for cases, assist with patient positioning, and maintain equipment and supplies.
6. Assist with patient wraps, casts, dressings, and minor equipment maintenance.
7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the operating environment.

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent with basic mechanical knowledge.
• Six months of hospital experience or relevant education/experience.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Physical ability to perform duties including heavy lifting, standing, and walking.
