Job summary

CMP01 Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. seeks a skilled Surgical Assistant to support pre- and post-operative patient care, maintain sterile technique, and assist with surgical exposure and instrument handling.

The role requires active licensure and CPR/BLS certification along with a high school diploma and preferably a bachelor’s degree. You will work in a high-volume hospital environment, collaborating with surgeons and nursing staff to uphold exceptional care standards and patient

Qualifications

• Surgical Assistant Certification required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with positioning and transferring of patients pre- and post-operatively.
• Maintain licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
• Assist in insertion of catheters/lines and prepping patients.
• Maintain sterile field and inspect sterile packages/trays for integrity.
• Handle sharps safely and wear PPE at the surgical field.
• Support the surgeon with exposure and tissue retraction as needed.
• Ensure proper knot tying and suturing techniques.
