MPOWERHealth is seeking a Surgical First Assist for a full-time, salaried OR-only role in Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is available and this is not a locums position with benefits included.

As the primary first assist, you will support cases from pre-op through post-op, maintain a sterile field, position patients, and coordinate with the surgical team. • Experience in Ortho, Spine, General, GYN, and Robotics; Spine experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited PA/NP/CSFA program and able to obtain MN state license.

Responsabilidades

• Lead as First Assist, providing hands-on support throughout procedures.
• Set the stage pre-op: confirm cases, meet patients, gather docs, coordinate with OR staff.
• Deliver in the OR: assist with positioning, maintain sterile field, anticipate surgeon's moves.
• Follow through post-op: PACU handoffs and documentation.
• Support clinical and operational initiatives, education and training.

What You'll Do

• Lead as First Assist:Serve as the primary surgical first assist, providing critical hands-on support throughout procedures.
• Set the Stage Pre-Op:Confirm cases, meet patients, walk them through procedures, gather documentation, and coordinate closely with OR staff.
• Deliver in the OR:Support patient positioning, maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's next move, and work in sync with the surgical team.
• Follow Through Post-Op:Assist with patient transfer, deliver thorough PACU handoffs, and complete documentation with precision.

Qualifications

What You Bring

Experience:

• At least 2 years of surgical assisting experience
• Hands-on experience assisting in Ortho, Spine, General, GYN, and Robotics
• Spine experience is required

Education & Credentials:

• Strong technical skills in the operating room
• Graduate of an Accredited program- PA/NP/CSFA
• Ability to acquire MN state license

Physical Requirements:Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation, including:
