Candidates must have a Surgical Assistant program completion and Virginia Board registration, with BLS and CSA/NBSTSA/NCCSA credentials preferred. One year of health care experience is plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Surgical Assistant Program required.
• Certified Surgical Assistant and Virginia Board registration required; CSA/ NBSTSA/ NSAA/ NCCSA credentials considered.
• One year health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving; assists as first or second assistant.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with instrument counts and specimen handling.
• Ensure patient information confidentiality and adhere to universal protocols.
• Assist with OR case prep, positioning, prepping, and draping; support surgeon during procedures.
