Job summary

Vero Beach Surgical Arts, P.A. seeks a diligent Surgical Assistant II to support the oral surgeon before, during, and after procedures in our Vero Beach, FL practice. You should be highly organized with a focus on patient care and have strong hands-on knowledge of oral surgery protocols.

Responsibilities include instrument cleaning, autoclave operation, tray setup, chart reviews, X-ray duties, and post-anesthesia support. Licensing and certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant program.
• Certification as a Surgical Assistant.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Proper instrument cleaning in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
• Autoclave operation and function.
• Surgical tray set-up.
• Identification of instruments used in the clinic.
• Room set up/break down for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Seat patient and perform pre-op set-up.
• Review charts and enter EMR notes.
• Take X-Rays/scans.
• Assist with post-anesthesia monitoring.
