Carle Health is seeking a dedicated Surgical Assistant to join our Operating Room team. You’ll support surgeons and the perioperative staff, ensuring sterile techniques, efficient supply management, and responsive patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - NCCSA
• Licensed Surgical Assistant within 1 year - IDFPR
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment through asepsis principles.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Assists in intraoperative tasks for first assisting.
• Ensures safety and compliance with policies.
• Scrubs and supports during procedures.
• Performs preceptor duties for students.
• Manages equipment and supplies charges.
• Assists in planning patient care with RN.
