Job summary

Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND is seeking a Surgical Assistant to support operating surgeons during procedures and ensure safety and efficiency throughout the operative process.

Responsibilities include assisting with intraoperative tasks, preparing tools, coordinating preoperative plans, and administering preoperative medications under supervision. Certification as CSTFA or RNFA preferred; current Surgical Technologist registration required.

Qualifications

• Certification as CSTFA or RNFA preferred.
• Current registration as Surgical Technologist with applicable state board.

Responsibilities

• Assists operating surgeons in carrying out technical surgical procedures following safety laws and regulations.
• Assists with intraoperative tasks such as homeostasis, exposure, and closure to support safe procedures.
• Prepares surgical tools and equipment; coordinates preoperative plans with surgeons and health team.
• Administers preoperative medications and reports patient responses to surgeons and anesthesiologists.

Education

Certification as Certified Surgical Assistant (CSTFA) or RNFA

Current registration as Surgical Technologist
