Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of CNA/EMT/Orthopedic Technician or related program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lifts, moves or assists patients into and out of bed; positions patients.
  • Transfers patients to and from transport devices and chairs.
  • Pushes and pulls wheelchairs and gurneys occupied by patients.
  • Maintains cleanliness and stock of wheelchairs, gurneys and related equipment.
  • Weighs patients and records data in charts.

Records in chartMay take vital signs (BP/HR/RR/temperature)Documents all patient care or tasks according to department and hospital policyAssists nursing personnel with bed making, baths, feeding, showers, oral and back care, etc.May stock rooms, sinks, carts, and closets with appropriate supplies and equipment; maintains rooms and other areas in a clean and orderly conditionMay apply orthopedic soft goods. May assemble cast supplies and assist with applicationMay set up and apply traction.
