Qualifications

• Current APN Certification or Current Physician Assistant Certification
• RN NJ state license or PA license & CDS/DEA
• Current BLS/ACLS; CDS; DEA; RNFA/Surgical NP certification if applicable

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations in preparation for surgical procedures
• Order laboratory, radiologic and diagnostic tests and report to surgical team
• See emergent ED consults and treat conditions within APP scope
• Discharge patients in collaboration with the attending physician
• Provide perioperative/postoperative care and participate in inpatient rounds
• Assist with intraoperative procedures and bedside care as needed
• Coordinate care with nurses, physicians and other clinicians
• Explain procedures to patients and families clearly
