Job summary

Infirmary Health is seeking a Surgical Aide to assist the surgical team by holding retractors and helping prepare, clean, and manage instruments and supplies in the operating room. The role operates under supervision of the Circulator RN and Scrub staff to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

Requirements include basic written and interpersonal communication skills and licensure like BLS; training may be provided through IH's Surgical Aide Trainee process or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Holds retractors as directed by the surgical team. This position will assist with cleaning, preparing, storing, distributing, and maintaining various supplies, equipment and instruments to assure efficiency and patient safety in the operating room under the supervision and direction of the Circulator RN and Scrub Position Staff member.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrates written, interpersonal, and communication skills as appropriate to position

One of the following:

• Completion of On-the-job training through IH Surgical Aide Trainee process
• Minimum of 1 of the most recent 2 years’ experience working as a Surgical Aide/Surgical Assistant

Working knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment and procedures

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

BLS
