Job summary

St. Charles Health System seeks an Advance Practice Provider, Surgery to join our General Surgery team in Oregon.

You will act as a first/second assistant in the operating room across open, laparoscopic, robotic techniques including bariatric, colorectal, and breast procedures, and provide inpatient/outpatient care with rounds, post-op instructions, and clinic visits. The role requires active surgical involvement, hospital rounding, and participation in call coverage with weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Unrestricted Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Oregon.
• Physician Assistant requires NCCPA certification or Nurse Practitioner requires AANC, NCC or AANP, AMCB.
• Unrestricted Federal DEA number registered in Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Acts as First or Second Assistant during surgical procedures as directed by physicians.
• Performs patient examinations and records history.
• Orders and interprets laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Interprets data to determine diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Administers and prescribes medications within state guidelines.
• Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultations as needed.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, physicians, and administration.
• Maintains patient records and administrative documentation in EMR.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement activities.
