Job summary

Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, AZ seeks an experienced Surgical Admissions Nurse to coordinate pre-operative and discharge activities, document patient histories, and educate patients and families for safe surgical experiences.

You will communicate with physician offices, support performance improvement efforts, and ensure adherence to standards while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of OR, ambulatory surgery, or pre-admission clinic experience.
• Nursing degree and AZ RN license or equivalent.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and patient preparation processes.

Responsibilities

• Develops the plan of care, including the discharge process.
• Communicates pertinent information to physician office staff.
• Coordinates all aspects of patient preparation before the day of surgery.
• Documents complete history, assessment, and care of patient.
• Provides thorough pre-operative pain management education for patient and family.
